The evolving regulatory authorities in the emerging pharmaceutical markets are becoming increasingly important to pharmaceutical companies in their global strategies for clinical development, registration of new medicines and post-marketing maintenance. Together with the opportunities present within the international pharmaceutical market there are also barriers for industries and authorities to overcome.
In January 2004, the Institute initiated the Emerging Markets Programme to meet the needs of both companies and regulatory agencies for comparative data and information on the evolving regulatory environment in the emerging markets at the country and regional level.
